Field notes
- This is the current color A3 family in the field. SOP 2.5, GW+ controller, ARMS-ready.
- SP entry: Reset → 806182# (SOP / IM C). If # does not take: 806182, hold C. Old yellow-key panels: 107.
- Fusing SCs (541–559) are Level A. Always SP5-810 after the repair — never as the repair.
- Forced process control (SP3-011) after any PCU, developer, ITB, or ID sensor work.
- Engine and controller firmware are a matched pair. Do not mix C3000/C3500 packages onto this engine.
- HDD/SSD on the controller holds address book, apps, and jobs. A 672 after a move is often the disk unseated.
- Cabinet trays 3/4 lift cables are a frequent 503/504. Replace the lift kit, not a single cable.
- Hardware keys and DIP on the GW+ board are used for recovery — see Procedures → GW recovery.
PM interval
PCU ~60–80k, fuser ~120–150k, feed rollers ~120k (confirm against PM table for the exact dash)

Unit locations
Fusing unit
Right door, pulls straight out on rails. Latch both sides.
PCU K/C/M/Y
Front door, left to right Y-M-C-K on this family — confirm the handle colors.
ITB (image transfer belt)
Behind PCUs, slides out on rails after the lock lever.
Toner bottles
Top front, under the bottle cover. Do not force a bottle that is not the matching color.
GW+ controller / SSD
Rear left (operator position), SD slots on the controller edge. Label SD1/SD2 before you pull.
SOP 2.5
Tilting panel. Harness through the support arm — do not crank the arm past the stop.
ADF hinge I/F
Right hinge of the SPDF/ARDF. Pinched cables throw 610/621.
PSU
Rear right. Heater drive (triac/relay) lives here — 543/544/547.

Start here on a call
Enter SP mode
SOP / IM C: Reset → 806182 → hold C. Then 5812# (phone on counter), 5810# (SC reset), 5990# (print SMC).
SC reset (SP5-810)
Clear a latched Level A/B service call after the repair is actually done.
Read SC history
The standing SC is rarely the whole story. History tells you what led up to it.
Forced process control
Run MUSIC / process control after PCU, developer, ITB, or ID sensor work.
Developer initialization
Init TD sensor / developer after a PCU or developer swap. Skipping this is a textbook SC325.
