What it means

Process control ran, but the ID pattern density was out of range. The #1 ‘mystery background / light copy’ code.

Likely causes

• Dirty ID sensor
• Low toner / empty bottle that still reads ‘OK’
• Worn PCU or developer
• Transfer belt contamination

1. 1Clean ID sensorAlways first. A filmed sensor makes every color look wrong and fails process control.
2. 2ConsumablesCheck toner bottles and PCU life (SP7-804 / PM counters). Shake/replace borderline bottles.
3. 3Forced process controlSP3-011-001. Watch it complete. If a single color fails, replace that PCU / developer and init.
4. 4BeltInspect the ITB for toner filming and cleaning-blade flip. Replace the belt if patterns are smeared.
