Setup

Two jobs. First hang the parts. Then at the customer office: IP, scan to email, scan to folder, and the final test.

Machine

Start from an example

The stand

Pick one. The machine sits on this — install it first.

The finisher

Pick one. You cannot mix these.

Also going on

Tick every extra part in the boxes.

  1. Get ready

01Open every box and lay out the parts

    FINISHERPUNCHFAX / PB1PU3080 ≠ PU3100
Confirm punch SKU matches the finisher before you hang anything

Punch, finisher, bridge, paper bank and fax come in separate boxes. Check the punch: PU3080 goes with the internal finisher (SR3310). PU3100 / PU3110 go with a floor or booklet finisher. They do not swap.

Why this order. If the punch is missing, stop. Do not hang an empty finisher.

  2. 02Need a wall outlet and floor space

    Dedicated 120–127 V · level floor · roll-on clearance

Dedicated 120–127 V. No cheap UPS on this machine — it can kill the fuser. Level floor. If a floor or booklet finisher is going on, leave room to roll it in.

  3. Unpack

03Take off shipping locks. Keep it unplugged.

    1Scanner lock2ITB lock3PCU clipsLOCKS OFF · STILL UNPLUGGED
Orange locks off · still unplugged · not a copy on the pallet

Scanner lock, orange clips on the ITB and PCUs, toner seals. Put all four toner bottles in. Do not power it on while it is still on the pallet.

Why this order. You cannot lift a machine onto a paper bank if a finisher is already hanging on it.

Skip an orange lock and the first power-on throws a fake error. Easy to waste an hour.

  4. Stand

    04Level the machine

    LEVEL1Feet + lock casters
Level on the glass · twisted engine = bad punch holes

Phone level or bubble on the glass. If the machine is twisted, punch holes and staples will sit crooked. Lock the casters.

  5. ADF

05Check the ADF on top — it should already be there

1Hinge harness — do not pinchSPDF
Factory SPDF — confirm hinges, do not lift by the ADF

Current IM C ships with the ADF installed. You are not hanging it. Check both hinges and that the cable in the right hinge is not pinched. Do not lift the machine by the ADF.

  6. Power on

06Power on and watch it find the new parts

    READY1SC696 / 620 / 610 = harness
    Config page → Attached Equipment

Stay in front of it until it is ready. The finisher and fax should show up by themselves. If they don’t, a cable is loose — it is not a hidden setting. Print a configuration page and look for Attached Equipment.

  7. 07Run process control after toner has loaded

SP3-011 after toner has actually supplied

Wait until the bottles stop flashing. Then SP3-011-001. Color machines only — skip this on black-and-white IM.

  8. Done

    08Print a configuration page

    IP / DNSSMTP / SMB1Print a config page
Copies and cannot scan is not a finished install

Look at Attached Equipment. Paper bank, finisher, punch, fax should be listed. Missing = a cable, not a setting.

  9. 09Set paper size in every tray

Slide the side fences and the end fence to the paper you loaded.

  10. 10Keep leftover parts with the machine

Inner tray, extra screws, dummy covers — in the cabinet or taped to the stand. You will need them if the finisher comes off later.
