Controller
GW+ controller recovery
Hardware keys, DIP, and SD recovery when SOP will not boot (819/820/672 loops).
Applies · IM C, IM, MP C with GW / GW+
01Photograph the board
Rear cover off. Photo of DIP, jumpers, SD slots, and HDD/SSD seating. You will need this to put it back.
02Disk first
Reseat HDD/SSD. A 672/819 loop after transport is the disk more often than a dead CPU. Clicking disk → replace, do not recover.
03Firmware SD
Matched engine + controller package on the firmware slot. Power on and wait. Never pull power mid-package. If it errors, try a second card — counterfeit SD cards are a real failure mode.
04Hardware keys
Some GW+ recoveries use a specific key-hold on boot (see the FSM ‘controller recovery’ page for the exact combination on that board revision). Do not hold random buttons — you can enter a format path.
05DIP
Factory default is almost always all off. A switch left on from a previous tech (boot-from-SD, debug UART, destination) will look like a haunted controller. Set back to the FSM default when you are done.
06NVRAM after a board swap
Restore SP5-825-001, set serial, destination, then firmware pair, then process control.
