Input / output check

Prove a sensor or motor before you replace it. SP5-803 in, SP5-804 out.

01Input check SP5-803
Open the SP, find the sensor bit (tray lift, HP, set switch, door). Toggle the actuator by hand. The bit must change. If it never changes, the sensor or the harness is the part — not the motor.
02Output check SP5-804
Energize the motor/clutch/lamp for a second. Watch/listen. A motor that spins on output check but not in a job is a control/sensor problem, not a motor problem.
03Doors
Many outputs are disabled with a door open. Use the door-pin cheat only if the FSM allows it, and never on the laser or fuser.
